thank you for the great lessons. Your explanations are clear and easy to understand even for those who aren't native Englis speakers. Hope, you will continue in sending of secret lessons. Maybe you also can help us with the basics of jazz. I have been playing in a blues band for 15 years and started to be interested in jazz.
Many thanks and wish you many joyful hours by drumming.
Thanks again

Still have big problems with the striking the double, been practicing the hand (finger) technique, but im not patient enough ;-)
I just cant seem to get the stick to bounce twice... get a 3 or 4 bounce way to often...
Thanks for the great lesson!

First of all, I want to thank you much for all these information you are giving to us, and let me tell you, it is very helpfull, for me, It is like I am a biggener drummer...I am learning so much of your videos.
I have some questions for you, I hope you can help me.
1- How can you tell what rithm you can play when there is new song and you don't have any music in writting for that song? I play in a group in church but sometimes, they came out with a new song and I need to know how am I going to playe the drums in that song, can you give me some advises?
Thxs ahead of time.
1- I need to know how to use some of the lessons you are giving us in a new song. I am hispanic, we play a lot of Tropical Litin music ( Salsa, Mergengue, Punta,, Cumbia, etc). But now I am also Playing in a group that singns in English, so in this case I Like to learn more how to play Rock Pop, Rock Funk, Alternative, and so on. They have the Notes for the guitar, piano and bass but not for the drums, what do I do in this case, I listen to the son and practice.
3- I have some songs that I like how the drums sound and I try to make the rithm myself but I cann't, because for me reading the music is easier the just listening to it, how can you help me about, I had a drum prefesor that I used to bring the song to him and he would write the notes for me. but he is no longer avaliable.
Please email me if is need it at LGODLOVESYOU@GMAIL.COM
I will apreciate you help so much.
4- Can you provide me with some videos on how to do solos, specially at the end of the songs, to end it.?
Thank you
mike
there was very nice bits on your video!
You should tell them to play ghosts with suffle. Its really nice and maybe more complex..
Regards,
Kamelia
I didn't know who to play ghost notes right.
But now I know
Thank's
this video lesson was a very great help. i now know where those "little-marching band" snare comes from in some of the music i listen to. you and your team help many people. more power!!!
Also, this is immaterial, but I've actually played a gig at the Blue Note which is the shirt you were wearing...I just thought I would share. Thanks again for all of your hard work!
Someday - that's my biggest wish - I want to be one of the best drummers on earth and make my life with that which I love most in this world: the drums.
I'm a drummer with good chops but low self confidence but just by looking at your lessons have been helping me convince myself that all the years of playing drums I know all of these things and now giving these things I've been playing names is giving what I have been doing for 40 odd years credibility,
I'm enjoying playing more then ever and could kick myself in the pants for not taking lessons forty five years ago, Thank You Mike and I also thank the creation of the WWW. for making it possible for You to be part of my learning growth!
first off i would like to thank you for these free video lessons they are quite beneficial
My origional Drum Teacher told me that a ghost note does not always have to be soft. as long as it is softer than the initial strike.
is this true?
Keep goin Mike
Keep it coming ! Back out of retirement and playing out again after ten+ years. 51 and still learning.
Thankyou,
Killer "B"

Any technic to improve my speed,?
Thanks
Thanks a lot!
... keep up the good work ... and if you ever come to Denmark, Beers on me !
these were good to learn, thanks a million.
looking forward to more n more videos like this.....thank you!!!!
If you could throw on a video on speed and technique tips for the bass drum that would be great, thanks.
Greetings from Germany, Super!
i've noticed on a few of your videos that the skin on your bass drum looks very saggy and flexy, is this just a different type of skin? does it create a better/different sound?
cheers
Best wishes
By the way, do you have any pointers on how to play polyrhythms? I can just about play a 6 with one hand and a 4 with the other. Apart from that... not too much success. Any help would be great.
Cheers
Cheers
Peter
have never thought that they should play that way
I use it often, so now I'm aware the next time I play
Ps: How do you get more speed out of your singles - i've heard that you should play singles on pillows or something with no rebound if you know what i mean?I always practice with a Metronome while on my practice pad -BUT THANKS SO MUCH GUY!!!!
thaks alot Mike and god bless u .
how' 'bout some more basic rock beats with fills thrown in using various rudiments. There seems to be a shortage of presentational stuff - unless it is at blinding speed.
(I love to ghost with syncopated accents....Jim Gordon comes to mind)
Keep 'em coming dude!
Ken
I just love them; they are of great help!
Thanks, Mike!
Awesome of you to share your knowledge. How can I improve my left (weak) hand to make me a better player?

Great stuff!
You gave me some more to think about.
Thank you.
I've been playing for some years, and it`s good to get back to the basics
Great lessons man!
Keep goig like thata!
Now I know what I was doing before. I wasn't playing soft enough in a basic hip-hop pattern. This should be easier for me now. Thanks for the tip.
Respectfully.....
Nifty left hand 'ghosting', and great co-ordination between left hand and right kicker.
Not so easy for us weak left-handers and readers though.
Thanks for your useful, clever and well-presented demo's.
Keep going.
SG
i love this rithm
thanks
good luck
bye
it sounds very nice!.. but my only question about it is, maybe you can help me a bit with these ghost notes.
I dont get my left hand that fast at the snaredrum
I also watched your video about the sticks and that worked a bit, but I dont know what the best practice is, for this problem.
This is amazing. I printed out the PDF and will be practicing this stuff tonight.
